Brass Candle Snuffer

This graceful brass candle snuffer is cast in pure solid brass. The thimble shape of the cup is a classic shape in America's federal period, as is the perfectly symmetrical ridged arm with an elliptical return at the end. In addition to aesthetic value of the candle snuffer, there is a practical design feature as well, which is a wick chamber in the upper section of the thimble to permit the smothering of the candle's flame without breaking off or crushing the wick. Hand cast in solid brass to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
