Elegant Finish metallic paints can be used alone or in a variety of combinations to create popular faux finishing looks on home decor from furniture and walls to accents such as frames, canvas, lamps, and candle holders. The paint is available in an easy-to-use, wide-mouth jar. Elegant Finish can be applied using a variety of techniques including sponging, marbling, dry brushing, and antiquing.
Shake well before using. Apply one well-brushed coat using a soft brush or sponge brush. Apply multiple coats when using more transparent colors. Allow to dry thoroughly before applying additional coats or varnishes.
TIPS FOR ELEGANT FINISH PAINT
Do not add Drying Time Extender, Fabric Medium, or any other medium to any Dazzling Metallics. It can lessen the intensity of the metallic finish. Dilute with water when needed.
Do not use over Weathered Wood.
Rinse your cloth frequently during the glazing process. If the glaze is not rubbing off and it is leaving a film on your project, then switch to a new cloth.
Apply the glaze and almost immediately wipe it off. This will let the glaze settle in the cracks of your project and let the paint shine through.
If your furniture does not have cracks for the glaze to go into, glazing may not be the best choice for the project. Glazing techniques work best when making details pop out of intricate pieces. If you use over a flat piece, the glaze would simply make the paint look more metallic.
If you apply too much glaze, use a wet cloth and wipe it off. Most will wipe off and you can start fresh.
